先日、オリジナルの器と、その写しを並べて見せていただいた際の感動が、今も心に残っています。

写真では伝えきれない、
手に取ったときの重みや、釉薬の微妙な色合い、光の角度によって浮かび上がる文様の陰影…。

このような器に触れながら直しの仕事をさせていただけるのは、
贅沢の極みであり、同時にかけがえのない学びの時間でもあります。

器と対話しながら、慎重に手を入れていきます。

目に見える傷だけでなく、そこに刻まれた時間や背景にも心を寄せながら、仕上げへと向かいました。

仕上げには本金丸粉を使用。

リム部分はすでに接着済みではありましたが、その薄さと儚さには、やはり気を遣います。

研ぎ出しと磨きの工程では、力が必要になるのですが、
破損のリスクを避けるためにも、力の加減には細心の注意を払いました。

一点一点が、一瞬一瞬が、緊張と美意識に満ちた時間でした。

Some time ago, I had the rare opportunity to see the original piece and its reproduction side by side.

What struck me most was the tactile experience—the way it feels in your hands, the subtle hues of the glaze, the shifting patterns that emerge as light plays across the surface.

These are qualities no photograph can truly capture.

To be entrusted with the restoration of such a piece is an honor beyond words.

It’s not only a privilege, but also an invaluable time of learning and quiet reflection.

Working with a piece like this is like having a conversation with history itself—listening closely, responding carefully.

For the final stage, I used round polishing powder.

The rim, though already adhered, was particularly delicate and fragile.

Polishing required considerable pressure, yet demanded an even greater level of care and attention to avoid any damage.

Each step was an exercise in restraint, craftsmanship, and respect for the object’s story.
